Every Tailor Says Bespoke, and Almost None of Them Mean It

Why so much ghostwritten LinkedIn content sounds identical, and what real voice capture means for an ICF credentialed coach who refuses to read like everyone else.

“Stand still for me,” the tailor says, and loops the tape around your chest.

You were measured like this once, in a hushed fitting room with chalk dust on the floor and three mirrors angled so you finally saw yourself from behind. The tailor worked in small marks and murmured numbers, the tape drawn along the arm, the chalk laid at the shoulder, and the pins held between the lips.

Every tailor in every city will call that ritual bespoke. Most of them take three minutes at the counter and hand you a template with your name chalked on the label.

Why does so much ghostwritten content sound the same?

Every ICF credentialed coach I speak with has felt that same three minute measurement done to their words. You hand a practice built through supervised hours, mentor coaching, and peer triads to someone who promises to capture your voice, and what comes back could be worn by any coach with a profile and a pulse.

The seams are clean, the grammar sits straight, although none of it carries the PCC who held space for a drained executive at five in the afternoon and shifted the whole line of their leadership.

That flattening cuts deep for your tribe in particular. You did not arrive at your coaching presence through a weekend certificate.

You moved through the whole rite, the coaching hours logged one session at a time, the mentor coaching that challenged your questions, and the peer triads where you were seen at your least rehearsed. There was, additionally, the performance evaluation where a trained ICF assessor listened to your recorded sessions against the core competencies and told you the truth.

That work shaped how you think about coaching entirely, the questions you reach for, the silences you hold, and the texture nobody else at ICF Converge carries in the same way.

What your tribe lives with every day

A coach three years in with a weekend certificate outranks you on the feed, wins the discovery call, and books the corporate client, while your reputation stays real in the room and unseen on your LinkedIn profile.

Annie Dillard wrote, “How we spend our days is, of course, how we spend our lives.” Years of your days built a practice with a specific cut, and a template erases that cut in a single pass.

What real voice capture actually means

We use the word bespoke the way the tailor meant it. Before a word is written we go through the whole cloth of you, the origin story, the beliefs beneath your methodology, the client breakthroughs you have never thought to tell, and the language you reach for in the coaching chair without noticing.

Rumi wrote, “What you seek is seeking you.” The clients who need your exact approach are already looking, and the writing we cut is the thread that leads them home to the coach you already are.

Picture the profile that fits the way a suit made only for you fits, the discovery calls that arrive already warm, and the corporate clients who find you first. Whatever you hold in your mind, you can hold in your hand.

Lao Tzu wrote that “the journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step,” and for a credentialed coach that first step is being seen exactly as you are.

The suit was always yours, and the world has simply never been shown the fit.

Fields of Growth Media writes LinkedIn content for ICF credentialed coaches, captured from your own voice, never a template. See how real voice capture works with The Profile Review, or read the full ways to work together.
