The Version Waiting on the Other Side

The three identities every ICF credentialed coach moves through on LinkedIn, from keeping their best thinking private to becoming the coach whose reputation arrives first.

You still remember the version of yourself who kept your best thinking private.

That ICF coach did the profound work behind a closed door. Sat across from a client, watched a breakthrough happen in real time, and then went home and said nothing about it to anyone. The insight that could have reached a thousand people stayed inside four walls and one confidentiality agreement.

Being unseen felt safe, and safety felt like the responsible choice for a serious professional.

Why staying invisible feels like the safe choice

I know that feeling. I built a photography business and remained behind the camera, certain the work would speak for itself. The work was professional, although the work proved too inconsistent and location based for my liking.

Invisibility is a comfortable room with the lights off, and you can spend years in there mistaking the stillness for peace.

What changes when a coach becomes visible

Identity B is the ICF coach who starts to show their thinking in public, one imperfect post at a time. The first ones feel excruciating, the way seeing yourself on video feels before the discomfort wears off. Wayne Dyer said, “Change the way you look at things and the things you look at change,” and the transformation is exactly that, ordinary and that enormous. You think of yourself as visible for long enough that your hands begin to act like it.

Here is what almost nobody tells you about that middle stage. The visibility changes far more than the pipeline, it changes the work itself. When a coach writes their ideas down for strangers every week, their thinking sharpens against the daylight. They stop hiding behind jargon because a scrolling reader will not forgive it. They hear their own philosophy said plainly, sometimes for the first time, and the sessions get better because the coach finally knows what they actually believe.

The version waiting on the other side

Identity C waits on the other side of that practice. This is the ICF coach whose reputation walks into the room a week before they do. The referrals still come, and now they arrive already warm, already convinced, and already halfway to a yes. The pricing conversation stops being a negotiation because the authority was established long before the call. We build that presence for ACC, PCC, and MCC coaches every week, and the pattern holds every time. The coaching never needed rescuing, the coach only needed to be found.

The real choice is which version of yourself gets to do the work in front of the people who need it most, the private one or the visible one.

Fields of Growth Media builds that visible presence for ICF credentialed coaches, captured from your own voice. Start with The Profile Review, or see the ways to work together.
